Hot weather is irritating our skin

"...Today we are expecting the weather to be max at 34 degree..."

I believe many of us are trying to tolerate the intense heat for the past 3 weeks or so.

Some of my clients are also complaining about itch and redness on skin (can be face, eye area, neck, or body) caused by this weather condition. The expansion of the elastin under our skin, maybe the cause of the itch and redness is a symptom of skin instability. These type of condition can also happen in cold weather.

Here are some points to share if you do felt the above:
1. Use PURE aloe vera gel on itch or/and redness areas. Aloe vera gel is a good skin conditioner and able to stablise skin at almost instant. If you are without make up, you can apply anytime.
You can get this over at pharmacy or from Skin Needs.

2. Use COLD press instead of HOT press for itch area. Wrap ice or use cold water on affected area to calm skin. COLD press can stablise skin and prevent the 'expansion of elastin'.

3. Using a good calming mask at night can also help in repair the skin irritation. Look out for ingredients such as aloe vera, chamomile flower etc.

4. Other than sunblock, umbrella is a good way to break the heat away when you are out in the open.

5. Drink lots of water and fruit juices to hydrate your skin and body. Double up for those whom are active in sports.

6. Cut on food that will provoke further perspiration which may irritate skin more. Spicy and chilli are those that you might want to do away at the moment.

7. Change your clothings and bedsheet more regularly.

Hope the tips above helps you in this 'extreme hot' weather.
